Clotrimazole / Butenafine

Clotrimazole is an azole antifungal agent, and Butenafine is a benzylamine antifungal agent. Both work by disrupting the fungal cell membrane, preventing the growth of dermatophytes and yeasts. While Clotrimazole (found in Lotrimin AF) is traditionally used twice daily, Butenafine (found in Lotrimin Ultra) typically requires a shorter treatment course or less frequent application for certain conditions.
